Track every campaign with Budurl

budurlOK, I was going to title this as IM tip #2 but there is a bit more to that one.

This is a very simple method of tracking individual emails, links, posts, tweets….anything really to see where you should focus your work. As most people, especially when you first start out, you try all sorts to get traffic and sales. The one thing that you probably don’t do, or 99% of people don’t do, is track and analyse their stats.

Using Budurl (www.budurl.com) you can add any link (even an affiliate/hop link) and not only have it shortened but also track the number of clicks it gets. This is great for when you want to post he same affiliate link to many places but want to see which one generates the most traffic. Simply re-shorten the link each time and place each link either in twitter, on a blog post, in a forum sig or where ever and see which one performs the best. Once you know which one works the best you can then focus in that area to generate the most amount of traffic/leads without wasting the time in the places that are not converting for you.

Oh, I just want to add that Budurl is free to use but it is helpful to sign up for an account so you can track your links after time. There are also other free services out there that do the same but this i just the one I use.
